Roger has extensive experience in intellectual property infringement litigation. From 2025 to 2026, he successfully represented Amgen, Bayer, Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), and Boehringer Ingelheim in pharmaceutical patent infringement cases. In 2024, Mastercard prevailed in a landmark trademark case handled by Roger, in which the opposing party was ordered to change its company name. In 2023, he represented Entegris in two successful patent infringement actions. Roger’s other notable cases include successful pharmaceutical patent infringement actions for Takeda, Helsinn, BMS, and AstraZeneca in 2021, as well as pharmaceutical and mechanical patent infringement actions for MSD and Shimano, respectively, in 2020.
Roger has also obtained substantial damages awards for clients in intellectual property disputes. In 2019, AVIS was awarded US$3 million in a trademark infringement case, while Entegris received US$32 million in a patent infringement case. Philips was awarded US$35 million in a patent infringement suit in 2017 and US$10 million in a patent case in 2013. In 2011, Roger acted for ESI, a Nasdaq-listed company based in Oregon, in a patent infringement suit resulting in a US$24 million award. He also represented Philips in a series of successful patent matters, including a US$68 million patent infringement damages award in 2010 and a US$75 million patent royalty award in 2009.
Known for his in-depth understanding of complex intellectual property matters and his ability to provide innovative and constructive solutions, Roger is regularly invited to speak at seminars and workshops and frequently publishes articles on intellectual property and antitrust law. He has also assisted Taiwanese government agencies in drafting amendments to intellectual property and competition-related laws and regulations.
