Intellectual Property Office releases report "Analysis of Key Technological Patent Trends in Vehicle Intelligent Cockpit Systems"

Recently, with the development and maturity of technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, big data, automotive chips, and operating systems, consumers have become accustomed to usage patterns of smart devices such as smartphones and smartwatches. Expectations for vehicles have evolved beyond simply providing transportation. As a result, the next generation of the automotive industry has developed the concept of the "smart cabin."

Currently no unified standards are in place for smart cabins. Any invention providing personalized, intelligent, and immersive experiences can be classified as vehicle smart cabin technology. On January 3, 2024, the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs released a report titled "Analysis of Key Technological Patent Trends in Vehicle Intelligent Cockpit Systems." The report aims to provide relevant industry players with development directions, avoid wasting research and development resources on existing technologies, and help identify potential partners or competitors.

The report focuses on the user's perspective and categorizes related smart cabin technologies into visual, audio, entertainment experience, and intelligent interaction-related technologies. For each category, the report provides a technical overview, global patent listing, and analysis of the current status of the technology in Taiwan.
