Latest Developments in the Intellectual Property Courts in China
The first intellectual property courts in China, namely, those in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, were officially instituted on November 6, December 16, and December 28, 2014 respectively. The Beijing Intellectual Property Court accepted a total of 221 cases in its first month of operation. Of these, 138 were administrative review cases involving allowability and validity of patent and trademark cases. They constituted 62.44% of all cases accepted.
