GPS and Reasonable Expectation of Privacy Unlike the EU’s Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications, Taiwan law does not stipulate that location data of a user’s terminal equipment may only be processed when they are made anonymous or with the consent of the user. Notwithstanding the foregoing, it does not mean that Taiwan law does not provide protection for location data.
