Toshiaki Tashiro

Senior Associate

 Toshiaki used to be specialized in PFI/PPP projects and other government projects, and advised on PPPs for a waste disposal plant, a school, leisure facilities, university hospital, housing, road concession, etc.

Toshiaki used to work for the Cabinet Office of Japanese government and was in charge of PFIs, and, at that time, was involved in almost all legal matters relating to PFIs, and, above all, in drafting guidance documents relating to PFI contracts and output specifications. In addition to advice on various PFI and other project financing projects, notable assignments included (i) drafting a standard long term O&M contract for waste water treatment facilities, (ii) advice on an investment in a toll road by a worldwide reputable investor, (iii) advice on an establishment of business in Japan by a worldwide water business, and (iv) advice on finance restructuring due to the privatization in the power sector in an Asian country.
