Kay Yang

Senior Associate

 Kay Yang is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has experience in representing clients ranging from start-up companies to high-tech institutions. She regularly handles all aspects of patent prosecution in biological, medical, mechanical and electronic technologies.

Prior to joining Lee and Li, Ms. Yang was the Director of the Patent Department at World Patent and Trademark Law Group in Newport Beach, California.


Ms. Yang specializes in patent prosecution strategy and has extensive experience in negotiation with patent examiners at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to expedite and facilitate the patent prosecution process. She also has experience in Reexamination, Supplemental Examination, Inter-Partes Review, Pre-Appeal Brief Conferences, Appeal Brief drafting, infringement analysis and prior art search.


Ms. Yang received a master's degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of New Hampshire School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University, Los Angeles.
