Amendment to Measures Governing Investment Permit to the People of Mainland Area
On March 13, 2015, the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced the latest amendment to Paragraph 2, Article 8 of the Measures Governing Investment Permit to the People of Mainland Area (the "Measures"). Before the amendment, any investment by the investors as defined under the Measures in an enterprise within the Free Economic Pilot Zone was subject to the approval of the relevant authorities but was exempted from the restrictions applicable to other investments out of the Free Economic Pilot Zone with regard to business scope, investment quota, and shareholding ratio as prescribed under the Rules, provided that there was no concern with national security. The latest amendment has removed such exemption.
