Import tax exemption limit has been decreased to NT$2,000
According to the amended Customs Act and Regulations Governing Customs Clearance Procedures for Importing and Exporting Postal Parcel, since January 1, 2018 onwards, imported goods or postal parcels with duty-paid value not exceeding NT$2,000 are exempt from customs duty, sales tax and commodity tax. However, the above exemption does not apply to the import of alcohol, tobacco and agricultural products subject to tariff quotas.
